Client Profile

The Florida Center for Early Childhood in Sarasota, FL, is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization focused on supporting young children and their families through a range of early childhood and developmental services. The Center offers comprehensive therapeutic and early education programs, including early intervention services that help children achieve developmental milestones, support for social-emotional growth, and preschool education such as the Starfish Academy. In addition to early education, it provides behavioral health, clinical interventions, counseling, and family support services designed to promote healthy development and resilience in children at risk of delays or challenges.

Commercial Playground Project Goals

The goals of this project were to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate outdoor play environment through the installation of a new play playground and poured in place safety surfacing. The playground system was designed to encourage physical activity, social interaction, and imaginative play, while supporting children’s strength, coordination, and overall development. The poured in place rubber flooring for playgrounds provides a durable, ADA accessible, and impact attenuating surface. Together, these improvements deliver a high quality, inclusive play space that serves children of all abilities for years to come.

Play System and Surfacing Project Details and Features

This project included the installation of the Key Largo Playground Set along with approximately 1,200 square feet of poured in place rubber surfacing to create a safe, attractive, and highly functional play environment. The Key Largo playground structure is designed to promote active play, coordination, and social interaction through engaging features that support climbing, sliding, and imaginative play. The poured rubberised surfacing provides a durable, low maintenance, and ADA accessible safety surface with excellent impact protection, helping to reduce the risk of injuries while improving accessibility for children of all abilities. Together, these improvements will deliver a long lasting and inclusive playground space built for daily use.
