Gadsden Elementary Magnet School, located in Quincy, Florida, is a public magnet school within the Gadsden County School District that serves children from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. Commercial School Playground Project Goals

The goals of this project were to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor environment. This was accomplished through the installation of two playground systems and a swing set designed to encourage active play. Interactive play panels were added to provide sensory rich and imaginative play opportunities for children of all abilities. The project also included the addition of four outdoor park benches, one standard picnic table, and one ADA accessible picnic table to create comfortable gathering spaces for students, staff, and families. Two hip sunny shade structures offer essential sun protection, while the poured in place rubberised surfacing provides a durable, ADA compliant surface that enhances safety and long term performance. Together, these improvements will deliver a welcoming, functional, and developmentally supportive outdoor space.

Elementary Playground Project Details and Features

This project included the installation of multiple high quality play and site amenities designed to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive outdoor recreation space. The scope featured the Barrington Ridge Playground Set, a Ketchum Playground System, and Camp Walden Interactive Panels, offering a variety of play activities that support physical development, sensory engagement, and imaginative play. A one bay two cantilever swing set was added to provide additional active play opportunities. The site was also furnished with four portable metal outdoor benches, one portable picnic table, and one portable ADA accessible picnic table to create comfortable seating and gathering areas. For added comfort and sun protection, this project included a 45′ x 28′ x 15′ standard hip sun shade and a 30′ x 24′ x 10′ hip shade with glide elbows. For safety surfacing we added poured in place rubber flooring for playgrounds, including 1,419 square feet under the Barrington Ridge Play System, 1,056 square feet under the swing set, and 572 square feet under the Ketchum Playground System, ensuring durable, ADA accessible, and impact attenuating play zones.
