Shade System Project Goals

Our project goal was to enhance the outdoor basketball court by installing a durable, high quality shade structure that improves comfort, safety, and year round usability for students, staff, and visitors. By reducing direct sun exposure and heat on the court surface, the new commercial shade structure will help support physical education classes, recess, team practices, and school events in a more welcoming environment. This improvement is designed to create a healthier outdoor space, extend daily activity time, and provide a long-lasting community asset that promotes active play and student wellness.

School Shade Structure Project Details and Features

This project includes the installation of one (1) 120’ x 100’ multi-dome hip shade structure designed to cover the existing outdoor basketball court and improve comfort and usability throughout the school year. The sun shade structure will provide broad, consistent shade coverage across the playing area, helping reduce heat and sun exposure for students during PE, recess, practices, and school activities. Built for long-term performance and safety, the shade system will feature a durable, weather-resistant canopy and a strong support framework engineered for outdoor conditions, creating a cooler, more inviting space for both daily use and special events.
