Playground Shade Site Amenities and Surfacing for Neighborhood

RiverCreek, located in Estero, Florida, is a gated residential community developed by GL Homes. Residents can choose from a variety of single family homes featuring one or two story floor plans. RiverCreek offers a rich array of resort style amenities designed for all ages. These include a clubhouse, a resort style pool, a splash park and shaded playground for children, fitness center and indoor sports complex, tennis, pickleball and bocce courts, walking trails, and additional community gathering spaces. Overall, RiverCreek blends upscale homes with a full suite of amenities and a secure, community oriented environment, offering residents a lifestyle that balances comfort, recreation, and convenience.

Neighborhood Playground Project Goals

Our project goals were to create a safe, welcoming, and long lasting neighborhood play space by installing a new outdoor play set with durable rubber mulch surfacing and borders. We enhanced comfort and usability with sun shade structures to help protect children and caregivers from sun exposure, along with park benches that provided convenient seating and supervision areas. To support cleanliness and ongoing maintenance, we also included a trash receptacle, helping keep the play area tidy and enjoyable for everyone in the community.

Commercial Playground Project Details and Features

This project included the installation of the Typhoon Pass Playground Set along with safety surfacing and site amenities to complete the space. We also installed two sun shades. A 40’x24’x12’ hip shade was installed over the play area, and one 20’x20’x8’ hip shade was added to cover the picnic area for additional comfort. The site was outfitted with two 6’ in ground mounted metal benches and one assembled trash receptacle with a liner and dome lid to support cleanliness and convenience. The play area was bordered with 39 8” borders, and 9 supersacks of rubberised mulch were installed to provide surfacing for a 32’x40’ area.
