Gadsden County Schools is the public school district serving Gadsden County, Florida, headquartered in Quincy, Florida. It oversees education for thousands of students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, operating a network of elementary, middle, high, alternative, and virtual schools across the county. Play Equipment Project Goals

Our project goals were to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor environment through the installation of multiple pieces of playground equipment, site amenities such as benches and tables, and durable poured-in-place rubber playground flooring. The playground equipment encourages active play, social interaction, and age appropriate development, while the added seating and gathering areas provide comfort and accessibility for students, families, and staff. The poured rubber surfacing enhances safety, improves accessibility, and ensures long term durability with minimal maintenance. Overall, the project is designed to promote physical activity and create a welcoming space that serves children of all abilities.

Elementary Playground Project Details and Features

This project featured the installation of the Barrington Ridge Playground Set, the Camp Walden Playground, and the Ketchum Playground System in vibrant purple, orange, and yellow color schemes, creating a bright and engaging play environment. We also added a T-Swing and a two Bay Arch Post Swing Set both in the color orange. To promote comfort and accessibility, four benches, one standard picnic table, and one ADA-accessible picnic table were added. Safety surfacing was completed with poured-in-place rubberised surfacing in a 50/50 blend of orange and black, totaling 572 square feet under the Ketchum system, 440 square feet under the T-Swing, 989 square feet under Barrington Ridge, and 1,152 square feet under the Arch Post Swing Set. The space was finished with a 45′ x 28′ x 15′ Standard Hip Sun Shade and a 30′ x 24′ x 10′ Hip Shade with Glide Elbow in coordinating yellow and purple, providing ample shade while enhancing the overall visual cohesion of the playground.
