Installed two cantilever shade structures to provide sun protection over the splash pad at a community park in Citronelle, Alabama.

Client Profile

Citronelle Park, located in Citronelle, Alabama, is a welcoming community green space where residents and visitors can enjoy outdoor recreation, relaxation, and social activities. The park offers scenic open areas for picnicking and leisurely strolls. In addition to general park space, this location features several amenities that enhance recreational fun: the Kennedy Park splash pad with seasonal hours and shaded pavilions, picnic tables and restrooms nearby, a playground, a tennis court, and a basketball court right next to the park area. The site also includes the Citronelle Community Center building, which can be rented for community events and gatherings like parties and celebrations. These facilities make Citronelle Park a lively hub for outdoor play, community events, and family friendly fun throughout the year.

Shade System Project Goals

The goal of our project was to enhance comfort and safety for families and visitors by adding sunny shade sails. These structures provide much needed relief from the sun, creating a more enjoyable and accessible environment during the hot summer months. By adding outdoor shading adjacent to the splash pad, we aimed to encourage longer visits, support community gatherings, and improve the overall recreational experience for children and their caregivers.

Commercial Shades Project Details and Features

Our project involved the installation of two 30’x15’x8′ Hanging Cantilever Sunny Shades over the splash pad area at Citronelle Park. These high quality commercial grade shades are designed to provide durable and effective sun protection while maintaining an open and inviting atmosphere. The cantilever design offers maximum shaded space with minimal obstruction, allowing for clear sightlines and easy movement around the splash pad. This enhancement greatly improves the comfort and usability of the splash pad for families and children throughout the warmer seasons.
