Client Profile

Lawson Dunes by Meritage Homes is part of a growing residential community in Haines City, Florida. Lawson Dunes is a new construction single family home community offering a range of modern floorplans with 3–6 bedrooms and 2–4 baths, with open layouts and convenient access to local shopping, dining, and major highways. Homes in the community are being built by multiple reputable builders and provide residents with a comfortable, family friendly neighborhood setting in Central Florida.

Community Space Project Goals

Our project goals were to create a safe, welcoming, and family friendly outdoor space with a variety of new amenities for the community to enjoy. The installation included playground equipment designed to encourage active play and social interaction for children. We also added a commercial sun sail shade and benches to provide comfortable areas for rest, supervision, and gathering. In addition, safety playground surfacing was installed to help reduce the risk of injury and ensure the play area met required safety standards. To expand recreation options for all residents, the project also included dog park equipment, creating a dedicated space for pets and their owners to stay active and connect with others.

Neighborhood Recreational Space Project Details and Features

Our project included the installation of a very popular outdoor playset, the Ditch Plains Playground System, featuring a variety of site amenities and safety focused improvements to create a functional and welcoming play area. The scope included one single post swing set with a cantilever arm bucket seat, along with 22 supersacks of loose black rubber mulch surfacing. Accessibility and site access were supported with an ADA half ramp, designed to integrate with the concrete borders poured on site. Additional community features included two six foot park benches, a small loop bike rack, and one receptacle with lid and liner for convenience and cleanliness. To improve comfort and usability, a 30′ x 30′ x 12′ hip shade structure was installed over the play equipment to provide much needed shade and sun protection.
