Client Profile

Temple Beth Sholom, located in Miami Beach, is a longstanding Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue that serves as a welcoming spiritual and community hub for individuals and families. In addition to worship services and holiday celebrations, they offer a wide range of opportunities for connection and learning, including religious school programs (jLAB), adult education, and community groups such as Brotherhood and Sisterhood, along with service and outreach initiatives. They are also home to The Innovative School of Temple Beth Sholom, a Reggio-inspired Jewish day school serving children from toddlers through elementary grades, emphasizing joyful learning and strong community values.

Playground Set Project Goals

Our goal was to deliver a safe, engaging, and well organized play environment by installing an outdoor play set, independent play items, protective surfacing, and benches in a way that supports daily use and long term value. We aimed to create a layout that maximizes play variety and age-appropriate challenges while maintaining clear sightlines for supervision and proper safety spacing throughout the area. The rubber playground surfacing was installed to meet applicable safety requirements, providing consistent fall protection and accessibility, while the outdoor benches will be placed strategically to offer comfortable seating for caregivers and staff without interfering with play zones. Overall, the project was focused on durability, safety, and a welcoming outdoor space that encourages active play, social interaction, and inclusive participation.

School Play Space Project Details and Features

This project created a cohesive, nature inspired outdoor play space through the installation of one nature themed play set along with a curated set of independent play elements that encourage exploration, balance, and imaginative play. The scope included a Tree Stump set for stepping and coordination activities, a Lizard Log and Kid Rock to support climbing and active movement, and interactive features like the Peek-A-Boo Rock and Stump Rock that spark curiosity and creative play. To support comfort and supervision, six park benches were installed around the play area in strategic locations. The entire space will be unified and made safer with 2,665 square feet of poured in place rubber flooring, providing durable fall protection and improved accessibility for daily use.
